Jay Voncannon

Jay Voncannon is the Chief Executive Officer of Family Business Capital (FBC), an invitation-only private equity syndicate offering bespoke, curated direct investments for ultra-high-net-worth families. FBC’s approach emphasizes operational expertise from underwriting through value creation, paired with a patient, family-minded perspective that respects legacy, culture, multi-generational stewardship and principled leadership.  Jay also serves on the board of directors of a variety of privately held family businesses, including Malnove Packaging Group.

Prior to serving as CEO of FBC, Jay was the CFO of CoorsTek, a leading global advanced technical ceramics producer serving the semiconductor, armor & defense, automotive and industrial markets, wholly owned by the Coors family. He served CoorsTek from January 2018 to January 2025 and helped shape its vision of making the world measurably better. Jay also helped develop CoorsTek’s culture by fostering and developing the challenge process within the company. Prior to joining CoorsTek, Inc., Jay was the Chief Financial Officer of Koch Equity Development, the merger and acquisition arm of Koch Industries from 2010 – 2017. Jay held executive financial leadership roles across Koch Industries for over two decades there, during which time, he was responsible for over $25 billion in acquisitions and key investments. Prior to his time with Koch, Jay spent several years with KPMG as an auditor, consultant, and fraud investigator.

Jay was named the Denver Business Journal’s large company CFO of the year in 2019. He and the management team of CoorsTek were named one of the Best Managed Companies for 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 by Deloitte and the Wall Street Journal. He has guest lectured at many of the top business schools in the US including Columbia University, Baylor University and the University of Kentucky, as well as speaking at various financial and capital market conferences.

Jay has a unique perspective on corporate leadership and family business through his experience with large privately owned businesses and his significant global experience in multiple industries and diverse perspective on finance, the economy and capital markets. Jay holds a Bachelor of Business in Accounting from Baylor University. He has served on a variety of private company boards including, WorkStep, the Holden-Conner Group, American Greetings, Dew Engineering and Truck-Lite.
