Patrick Hennessey, M.D.

Patrick is a Johns Hopkins trained surgeon-scientist who is the Chief Medical Officer of 32 Biosciences, a pre-clinical stage healthcare company commercializing two platform technologies developed at the University of Chicago by three globally recognized thought leaders in the field of gut microbiome research.

He attended Carleton College, went to medical school at the Georgetown University School of Medicine, and received his Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency training at The Johns Hopkins Hospital on the clinician-scientist track.

After suffering a shoulder injury that ended his surgical career, Patrick pivoted to the startup space where his medical and research background, including extensive experience working in both academic and private practice settings, gives him a unique perspective on the unmet needs in clinical medicine. He has leveraged his background to evaluate life sciences investments for large angel investing networks and venture capitalists and brings his diverse experiences to his executive leadership role at 32 Biosciences.
